Finished in 1904, Sacred Heart was constructed of
load-bearing masonry exterior walls with wood
trusses
The historic rehabilitation work is being done
while the church is in full operation, scheduling around
masses, funerals, weddings, etc., Interior scaffolding has to
be broken down each day in order for the church to remain
open.
Historic rehabilitation of the 97-year old Sacred
Heart Catholic Church includes full restoration of the
stained-glass windows and protective coverings, exterior
cleaning and repairs to the granite and marble exterior
(including regrouting all exterior joints) internal structural
repairs and architectural renovation and updating of the
mechanical and electrical systems.
