Designed, permitted, and
constructed in 10 months. This 77,000 square foot
wharf-to-rail transit shed used for warehousing and
distributing goods, was a design-build partnership with Ranon
& Partners Architects. The structure was built for the
Tampa Port Authority who owns and operates the facility.
Mathews Construction worked in concert with the architect to
design the $2.4 million metal building. The need to withstand
heavy loads dictated an 8 inch post-tensioned concrete slab.
The roof is supported by jack trusses with the supporting
columns placed to ensure maximum clearance.
