This facility houses a large flexible space area to accommodate physical fitness activities, stage production, meeting rooms and classrooms that can be easily configured into various uses. The facility includes complete restrooms and locker rooms with shower facilities.
The lobby serves as a transitional area from the adjacent large multi-purpose/gym/exhibit space to the educational spaces. The new library, classrooms, teaching and vocational laboratory spaces offer state-of-the-art learning facilities for HCC and partner programs with UF-IFAS serving the local agri-science community.
Flexibility of the main gymnasium/exhibit space to accommodate a wide variety of educational and community functions drove the design team. Hard court athletic competitions; meeting, classroom and seminar configurations; theatrical productions; trade shows; civic events and a wide variety of dining hall arrangements are all within the realm of possibilities to be hosted by this facility.
